Join us for the Pittsburgh Planned Giving Council’s first meeting of 2026 as we gather for our Annual Meeting and a special guest presentation. We will review highlights from the past year, share updates on upcoming programs and initiatives, and reconnect with colleagues across the gift planning community.
Our program will feature a presentation titled: "Ten Ways to Disengage With Financial Advisors"
Brian Gongaware and the team at McKinley Carter Wealth Services do a twist on the question "How do I connect with wealth managers?" by sharing a financial advisor's perspective. Based on years of philanthropic-minded advising, Brian will share stories of the most ineffective approaches to reaching HNW donors through their advisors. Time will be provided for Q&A with an experienced financial advisor with a philanthropic bent.
At the conclusion nonprofit leaders and fundraisers will have a practical look at how to work more closely with professional wealth managers so donors feel confident and supported in their giving. We will walk through clear steps to make collaboration easier, from sharing mission and impact in simple terms to providing usable tools, streamlining planned giving conversations, and building trust through consistent communication. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how advisors guide families and where nonprofits fit into those conversations Agenda
